At a glance
- PodPronto does not add its own advertising or visitor-analytics scripts to these pages. YouTube content has its own data practices.
- Watch Any Video sends your search phrase or selected video identifier to Google’s YouTube services to retrieve video information.
- My Library favorites and saved playback positions stay in this browser. Podcast requests are stored privately for the site administrator.
- Your name and email are optional when you submit a request. Providing an email does not sign you up for a newsletter.
Browsing and routine website records
Your browser sends technical information needed to load pages and images. The hosting provider may keep access and security logs containing IP addresses, requested addresses, browser information, and timestamps. Those records are separate from the private podcast-request inbox.
Ordinary library browsing does not require a PodPronto session cookie. Some images, including YouTube video thumbnails in search results, load directly from Google’s servers. Those image requests can disclose technical information such as your IP address and browser details before you play a video.
Find a Video and Watch Any Video
PodPronto uses YouTube API Services to search for videos and retrieve public video details. When you submit a search, PodPronto’s server sends the phrase to Google’s YouTube service. When you paste a YouTube link or select a video, its video identifier is used to retrieve public information and available chapter information. Avoid putting private or sensitive information into a search phrase.
Search phrases, results, and selections are kept temporarily in your server-side session so the feature can display your results and handle selections. Search-result sets stop being reusable after 30 minutes and are cleared during later visits to the feature. This is not a promise that the underlying session file is deleted at exactly 30 minutes; server session cleanup happens separately.
PodPronto does not ask for your Google or YouTube password, connect to your private YouTube account, or request access to your subscriptions, private playlists, or YouTube watch history. Google may still process information it receives through its services under its own policies.
Background chapter retrieval
When enabled, PodPronto can queue a selected public video identifier and its duration for chapter retrieval by a collector on the site owner’s computer. The collector receives no visitor names, contact details, search phrases, or saved playback positions. It retrieves public chapter information from YouTube and sends the chapter titles and timestamps back to PodPronto.
Chapter results are shared between visitors and reused for up to 30 days. Expired cache files are cleaned during later collection. Pending work expires after 10 minutes; unavailable results can be remembered for an hour to avoid repeated requests. Playback remains available when the collector is offline or chapters cannot be retrieved.
Optional automatic caption guides
If the site owner enables automatic caption guides, opening an eligible Watch Any Video player page can start preparing a guide in the background. PodPronto’s server sends the selected public video identifier to Supadata to request existing captions, then sends the available captions, video title, channel name, and duration to OpenAI to create topic summaries. This feature does not send your search phrase, podcast-request contact details, or locally saved playback positions to those two services. It does not download the video’s audio or request paid audio transcription.
The resulting guide is cached privately on the server and reused for other visitors for up to 30 days before becoming eligible for regeneration. Expired cache files may remain until a later generation triggers cleanup. Captions are processed during generation rather than deliberately saved as a separate transcript file by this feature. Temporary session data also identifies the selected video for up to an hour to authorize guide requests; session cleanup is separate. Supadata and OpenAI apply their own service policies to information they receive. The optional service may be disabled, limited, or unavailable for a particular video.
YouTube players and third-party content
Ordinary episode-guide pages wait until you choose Play Video or a timestamp before loading YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player and player-control script. Opening a link with a starting timestamp can load them immediately. Thumbnails and other third-party images may load earlier.
Once a player or its controls load, your browser connects to Google / YouTube. YouTube receives technical information to display the player, check whether a video can play, and help prevent abuse. Playback involves additional data collection. YouTube may use cookies or similar storage and may display advertising or other content within its player. Privacy-enhanced mode does not mean that no data is transmitted.
PodPronto’s timestamp controls work with the embedded player. Links inside YouTube’s player, or links you choose to open on a social network, take you to services with their own privacy practices. See Google’s Privacy Policy and the YouTube Terms of Service for information about using YouTube services.
My Library favorites
My Library stores your favorite series and the panel’s open or closed preference in this browser’s local storage. Favorites are not sent to PodPronto’s server, linked to an account, or automatically synced between browsers or devices. Anyone using the same browser profile can see them. Clearing PodPronto’s site data removes these favorites; if storage is blocked, a selection may last only for the current page.
Phone installation preferences
The mobile homepage uses browser-side storage to remember when its Install as an App link has been selected or an installed app has been detected. This keeps the installation offer from repeatedly appearing. Detection varies by browser; these preferences are not an account or a list of other apps on your device. Installing PodPronto does not make its videos available offline or sync your saved favorites across separate browser or app storage.
Remembering where you stopped
On supported player pages, PodPronto saves the video identifier, your playback position, and the time it was last updated in this browser’s local storage. This allows a later visit to offer the place where you stopped. The local list contains at most 100 videos; entries more than 180 days old are ignored and removed the next time a position is saved.
This local playback list is not sent to PodPronto’s server, connected to a PodPronto account, or synced across devices. YouTube’s own player data collection is separate. Anyone using the same browser profile may be able to see or resume the same saved videos.
You can remove these positions by clearing PodPronto’s site data in your browser. Private browsing, blocked storage, or clearing site data may prevent resuming. A timestamp in a link and Play From Beginning let you choose a different start without having to erase your saved positions.
The Open Library button
On pages with Open Library, a browser-side check looks for an open PodPronto homepage tab. The button appears when the check confirms that the homepage is not open. This check is limited to PodPronto pages in the same browser context: it does not inspect tabs for other websites or send a list of your open tabs to PodPronto’s server. If your browser blocks the check, the button may remain hidden; the PodPronto logo still links to the library.
Podcast requests, corrections, and contact details
The request form collects the request type, podcast or series name, any episode title or YouTube link you provide, your message, and optional name and email. PodPronto uses this information to review suggestions, identify recordings, address corrections, and possibly reply to you.
Accepted requests are stored in a private area on the hosting account for the administrator to review. They are not published as a public request board. The administrator may use a suggestion to choose or correct public library content, without publishing your optional contact details. Please do not submit passwords, sensitive personal information, or personal information about children or other people.
New-request email notifications contain a request reference, request type, and a link to the private inbox, rather than the full message or your contact details. Notifications go to admin@podpronto.com. Hosting and email providers process information needed to store requests or deliver messages and may keep their own service records. If you email directly, your message and contact details are handled through email rather than only through the request form.
Cookies, security, and abuse prevention
Video search, request forms, and administrator pages use an essential PodPronto session cookie to associate a browser with temporary session data and protect forms or administrator access. It is not an advertising identifier. The cookie is configured as a browser-session cookie, although some browsers restore sessions after restarting. Server session data is cleared through the host’s session maintenance.
PodPronto uses submission checks and rate limits to reduce spam and abuse. Rate-limit records use keyed hashes derived from network addresses rather than raw IP addresses in the request records. Hosting logs may still contain raw IP addresses. A rejected or incomplete submission is not saved as an accepted request, though temporary session or security records may still exist.
Retention and your choices
Request records become eligible for deletion after 90 days. Cleanup runs during new submissions, inbox access, or scheduled maintenance; an inactive site may not remove an expired record until cleanup next runs. The administrator can also delete requests earlier. Hosting logs, email records, private backups, and manual exports may follow separate retention schedules.
Clearing PodPronto’s cookies and site data removes My Library favorites, locally saved playback positions, installation preferences and browser session information, but does not delete a submitted request or records already held by Google, the host, or an email provider. Blocking cookies may prevent search or request forms from working. Google provides its own privacy controls through the links above.
For privacy questions or to ask about access, correction, or deletion of information you submitted, contact admin@podpronto.com. Include your request reference if you have one and enough detail to identify the information. Do not send identity documents unless a specific need has been explained. A parent or guardian concerned that a child submitted personal information can use the same contact.
